Wednesday, June 15, 2011. On Sunday Brandon and I rented jet skis and headed out in the Pacific along the CR coast. We were on a guided tour but it was a great time. Definately want to do this again back home. On Tuesday most of the group took a tour of Manuel Antonio National Park and saw a lot of wildlife. We had a great guide, Johann, who took a lot of time to point things out. Most things were tiny or at a good distance, so we used his scope to get better pictures. A close up of a two toed sloth.
This blog is primarily a travelogue. I am retired from the National Weather Service and on the road as much as possible! Thursday, March 08, 2018. I went to the Grampians in western Victoria a week and a half ago. I found a fine lizard basking on a rock. The Grampians are a bit like the Santa Lucia Mountains near Monterey in that they are not very high. tallest peak is about 3500 feet.
Thursday, October 13, 2011. Hiked to Vernal falls along the Mist trail. 4 miles round trip and a 1000 foot elevation gain. Kids did great! Thursday, October 13, 2011. Wednesday, June 22, 2011. Wednesday, December 10, 2008. Long Weekend in Boone July 2008. Two months to go until Erik returns from deployment, so I drive up to the Boone, NC area to spend a long weekend at my aunt and uncles house on Sugar Mountain.
