Virtually Alex

Technology notes from the virtual mind of Alex Weeks. Tuesday, January 3, 2012. I lasted about a day before almost all of the extensions I installed. On a good note, I dont find myself missing Firefox. Chrome has been fast. My biggest complaint is that there is no drop down on address bar. I find that I use that quite often in Firefox and not having it in Chrome sucks. Anyone know of an extension to fix this? Friday, December 30, 2011. Started my day with my Internet service being down. Go me! As expect.

My thoughts on Administrating in the Cloud. I have a VMUG Advantage. Account and this week they announced that they now offer vSphere 6. So I decided I was going to upgrade my home lab. My home lab consists of an old Dell DSC6005 with 3 nodes with the older AMD CPU. Even though it is older, it has 48GB of RAM in each node and with the VMUG Advantage licenses, I can run a pretty good home lab. Sometimes, Microsoft drives me nuts. Such was the case this past weekend.
