The Masakhane Newsletter aims to inform interestested parties and stakeholders about developments and interventions implemented by Village Power at the Masakhane community. Monday, September 20, 2010. Newsletter 8 - September 2010. Extra Maths and Science classes. Kestrel Raik, Volunteer at Masakhane did some creative workshops with the youth at Masakhane.
The Masakhane Project is a community development project managed by Village Power Community Development Projects which is a registered Non-profit organisation. This innitiative is supported by stakeholders such as Local Government, SABMiller and ABI. Masakhane is a rural informal settlement outside of Magaliesburg in the Gauteng Province. Monday, June 21, 2010. Standford Sambo, a member of the Masakhane HIV-Drama Group, was the Master of ceremonies for the event.
The Masakhane Children Blog will post news and information on the wellbeing of the children of this settlement. Monday, September 20, 2010. A creative youth programme was run by Kestrel Raik, Volunteer at Village Power. Recycled materials were used to create several items, such as mobiles, which the children could take home. Keeping the children and Youth of this settlement busy over holidays is a priority. A photographic workshop is planned for the December holidays. Posted by Sonja van der Vyver.
Wednesday, March 10, 2010. Natalie is heading up the womens development project at Masakhane and is very excited about working with this team of ambitious women and men towards earning a decent income with the new skills she will be offering the group. Natalie has a 9 year old daughter who keeps her young at heart and has a deep spiritual connection with Magaliesburg and is driven to see the area uplifted. Posted by Sonja van der Vyver.
