Biking to and from work in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Wednesday, October 21, 2009. Schwalbe Marathon Winter Tires. So I finally picked up my studded tires, or rather one of them, I get the other tomorrow. Anyway, I went with Schwalbe Marathon Winters with 240 studs a tire. It is a very nice tire, I must say. Kind of heavy at almost 1kg. but I can deal with heavy tires if it lets me ride in the winter safely. Ill ride on them for a little while and then give a review of my experience with them. While jacking up a vehicle is generally not a big issue, add a 6 inch lift to a Chevrolet 2500HD and it gets a little more interesting. I assure you that this was OSHA approved, notice the jack stand to stop the 9,000 lb vehicle from crushing anything or anyone who may have been underneath it.
