Like a loose bobbin come with me as I wind through the twists and tangles of quilting. Friday, March 27, 2015. I thought they would look good along the borders. We measured and measured again and determined what was needed was a rectangular piece. Using some coffee themed fabric we stitched additional borders. Notice that certain letters are capitalized? It was challenging working.
Wednesday, January 04, 2012. About 7 years, I slipped on a gravel path at the start of a nature reserve near home. I tore my knee right open to the bone which needed 60 stitches. As a result, I have only attempted the path once recently with my husband and. Never walked down this path alone again until yesterday. Big 7-0 and More - Musings. Monday, January 15, 2018. We had light snow and intense cold for about ten days. An unusual start to our winter but in this age of climate change the unusual is expected. Then we had five or so days of suddenly spring-like temperatures and mild winds - a delight! Unseen crows in full cry. Warm, wet fog wraps its wisps.
Daily walks are a creative habit integral to my studio practice whether I am home or travelling. By closely observing my surroundings, and taking hundreds of photos, I have a bountiful inspiration bank that informs my work. I also embrace the serendipity factor. From the dye pot, to the design wall, to the sewing machine, I am always open to the possibility of a glorious accident. Currently on exhibition in ART QUILT AUSTRALIA 2017.
Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Summertime Sowing and Stitching Spirits. I have spent this Spring making papermache dolls using bottles as a base. It gives them a more solid foundation than foil or paper and helps inform the final shape. This October I will be selling Halloween, Day of the Dead and Witch Dolls at a show called Spirits in Sanford that is located in Sanford, Fl on Oct 9 and 10.
