Faith, Love, and Band-aids. Wednesday, August 20, 2008. A rough couple of weeks. The last couple of weeks have held more than I can handle. A close family friend from my childhood committed suicide. She was a good Mom and I feel awful for her children and grandchildren. My mother is having surgery today and I cannot be there with her. To top it off she is concerned about how fast she will recover so she can take care of things with my grandmother.

Friday, August 17, 2012. How Do I Love Thee! The smell makes my mouth water. What is it that makes bacon so good? For this cupcake, I cooked about 6 slices and made them crispy. Once cooled, I chopped them up. I used a vanilla cake base, but it had real maple syrup in the batter. Oh My Goodness! I could have eaten the cupcakes all by themselves. The maple made the cake so moist and taste quite rich. Yum! They also smelled divinely. I used a piece of bacon and crumbled it on top of the cupcakes.
