When I first came to Dubai I was relaying a frustrating experience of trying to give directions to a taxi driver who had no idea of where they were going and neither did I. The person I was telling told me that I was going through the five stages of grief. At the time I thought this was a rather odd comparison but in hindsight it was quite true. Below is my mindset during this time which I think was over a six month period.

Thursday, June 19, 2008. I nannied there for two summers when I was in college. It was the first place I traveled outside the Midwest. It was nothing like what I knew with its pan handlers, and water shortages and tourists. I had never lived anywhere people visited. But here were throngs of people in sun visors making me wait in line.

I am a bad, really bad blogger. I have been a stranger to my own blog. I never realized it is just 55 days before my wedding. I have not been counting.
