Pictures and information about a trip around Tasmania. Monday, 12 March 2007. Cradle Mountain and Lake St Clair. Cradle MountainLake St Clair National Park is truly a beautiful place. The scenery is superb everywhere you look. These pictures were taken in November and there was still snow on the peaks. It was extremely cold and windy the day we were there, but we were lucky that the mountain itself was visible. Apparently is is usually hidden behind fog or clouds. Cascades near Cradle Mountain. Racers compete over 65 miles of rolling terrain on both dirt and paved roads as they travel through the world famous Battenkill Valley. Set in early spring, the race courses includes covered bridges, family farms, and rural villages along the many challenging backcountry roads that traverse Southern Washington County, New York.
