Despite a break from blogging, the Friends of Franke Scrub have continued to weed and care for our patch of remnant vegetation on the last Wednesday morning of each month, with a break each December. You can find us from 8. 30 am until 10 am or so on Franke Road off Cawdor Drive. July gathering at the scrub. Despite the lack of recent blog entries, we continue to meet on the last Wednesday of the month at Franke Scrub. BYO drinks, snacks and seat, bino.

Saturday, 8 November 2014. We were lucky to have a free live simulcast of Journey through Cosmos. From Brisbane on Saturday night. It was held in the new theatre space at the Empire and was sold out. It was an interesting combination of information on space exploration, visual imagery of the planets and space exploration vehicles, and two pieces of interesting music with QSO including very good vision of the orchestra and individual players. However, the rational part of my mind tells me the seasons will really behave as they usually do again this year, and that in a few weeks it will be time for getting in those early spring plantings.
