Wednesday, August 10, 2011. A couple of kilometers north of Suez, we take the heavily guarded Ahmed Hamdi Tunnel underneath the Suez Canal. The traffic passes in single file through its gaping mouth and as we follow, we are starting to grasp the reality that we are saying goodbye to Africa. By midnight we arrive at our hotel in the resort town of Eilat. Really deteriorating because of all the hordes of tourists.
This will be my home for the next 6 months, when I travel with this old VW transporter to Sierra Leone, on the way I will further explore Mali and Guinée. My 2012 Africa trip has ended. Welcome on my homepage! .

Thursday, May 21, 2015. Since I have raced twice in the past 2 weeks, it is probably time for an update and not just a few pictures. It was very even paced and very few spikes. With it being a flat course there were very few power surges as well. The bike was 1 mile short but I was happy with the result, and happy to win a race with such history.
