On August 8, 2011. These are the clouds that caught my eye as I drove in. Variegated grey, stooping low over the huddled bush where everything is dark, mounting the staircase of the sky, clothing it white. There on the horizon, beneath the darkened cloak that ledge of slate, ragged edges of the cloth hang loose, trailing; a rag dipped into the hunkering growth of trees.
