They have been built under all conditions, professional and amatuer around the world and have sailed the planet. This blog is about building a Tiki 26. This journal will detail the building of the Wharram Tiki 26 catamaran, Element II. My choice of design in a voyaging boat to build is the result of 20 years of experience traveling in sea kayaks and small sailboats ranging from a double outrigger canoe to a traditional monohull keelboat. The basic system is we glue a stub of PVC tubing Onto the hull and then another piece in line with the first onto the side of the cockpit. Then we connect the two tube stubs with a piece of rubber inner tube and a couple of hose clamps. Here are some photos that will make it all very clear.
