Our gallery has regular solo and group exhibitons, featuring local, national and international professional and emerging artists. Our Size Matters exhibition is an annual event taking place each December to promote original artworks at affordable prices.
The SWICH Contemporary Art Space is an innovative Ipswich-based business that is both a commercial and creative enterprise. Commercially we provide a space for emerging and established artists to exhibit and sell their artworks. As part of our creative enterprise we aim to generate opportunities for the collaboration of artists, business and the wider community through innovative projects. 8226; gallery hire - solo and group exhibitions. 8226; gallery gift shop - local and interstate designers.
Our gallery space will close on 22 December, 2012 at 2pm. We are pursuing other projects next year and will not be reopening the gallery at 191 Brisbane St, Ipswich. Thank you for all your support over the years. We will continue to have a website and facebook page to continue to keep you updated with what we are doing and developments and events in the arts community. Our gallery store and gift shop features a broad selection of exclusive Ipswich designs by local creative artists, as well as designs from Brisbane-based creative artists. We stock a range of handcrafted and unique designed wearable art including ceramic and fabric brooches and vintage silver cutlery jewellery. We also stock a range of locally designed greeting cards, vintage storybook cards, as well as a range of Ipswich art cards and merchandise, including button badges and fridge magnets.
Art is a process of doing or making that has an aesthetic quality inherent in the experience as appreciating, perceiving, and enjoying.
