The Ship Inn - Holy Island of Lindisfarne. There has been a public house located on this part of the island for several hundred years. Formerly called the Northumberland Arms it was during 1995 that a major renovation programme was undertaken and the business was renamed as The Ship Inn, although the Islanders still affectionately refer to the pub as The Tavern. As you enter The Ship Inn the bar area has an ambience that perfectly portrays an atmosphere akin to the interior of a traditional sailing ship .
