Saturday, July 9, 2011. Madeline turned three this past week. Three years of more love and joy than I can put into words. She is such a bright, beautiful, silly, spunky, sweet, loving, large person in that little three year old body. She is very interested in animals, from kittens, to elephants, to hyenas. For the past several months, she has claimed that pigs are her favorite, because they are pink. But she also clarifies that she likes clean pigs, not dirty ones.
I feel like there were big chunks of my life I spent mired in this unfortunate state of being, which makes me want to go back in time and give my younger self a pep talk.
