Things that make me say Hmmmm

Things that make me say Hmmmm. Sunday, January 13, 2008. Recently I was shopping for new covers for the ironing boards we use at the store. These poor boards are used daily, the covers get scorched, things are mistakenly fused to them, the irons leak on them, this probably borders on ironing board abuse. I replace the covers every 4 to 6 months. I immediately scanned the entire 8 foot section of ironing board covers for a peg hook marked Industrial Strength. No luck, Heavy Use8.8220;7 Year Fit Gua.

Karen Says Sew

Monday, March 9, 2015. Earlier this month we, along with Mother Nature, were vending at the Mid Atlantic Quilt Festival in Hampton VA. Despite the wicked weather, ice and 7 inches of snow, the show was wonderful. The crowds were lighter than expected, but sales were up. Customers kept commenting on how much they enjoyed being able to shop every booth, see every demo and not have to wait in line to have fabric cut. Those that braved the elements really did have a wonderful time.

The Quilt Connection

This charming little sample of Sashiko art is made by Janelle Kapernick of Qld. I just love that Janelle chose to use a dyed fabric to capture the moon behind the clouds. I chose to add curved quilting lines with directional change to mimic the changing flow of the ocean. I am quilting this great quilt today made by Lynne McKinlay for one of her boys to celebrate his birthday. The photo to the right is shows a quilt made .
