The Garden Gate

Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Red Buds, Red Maples, Native Plums, and Fringe Trees. We didnt want to put pictures in the newsletter, but it would be a shame to not see pictures of these beauties. Check out a blooming red bud. This one is in a yard behind us at the Garden Gate, so were lucky that we get to enjoy it every year. Heres a Chickasaw Plum. Chickasaw Plum will soon be blooming in our local woods. This picture was taken near the Gulf Islands National Seashore in Gulf Breeze. But wait, theres more!

Tuesday, June 1, 2010. This past weekend we built our raised garden boxes for our vegetable garden. We actually got started a little earlier this week with the sprinklers. It was truly a family affair with both boys getting into the action. They enjoyed working right along-side their Dad. Parker helped heat up the ends of the sprinkler pipe. Avie just enjoyed checking out the trenches. Connor learned how to cut the sprinkler pipe and attach the sprinkler parts. That is the funnest part.
