Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Why was discovering agriculture inportant? Before humans discovered agriculture they hunted and. Gathered for roughly 2 million years. During this time, humans had to move from place to place. Everybody alive; gathering enough food for everybody. Human needed something more sustainable. Agriculture allowed humans to settle and to produce more. Population started to increase; communities formed.
