Life long Alaskan that needed a change and finding it in Wisconsin. Monday, May 6, 2013. Yucky Day, but it got better! This is what it looked like at around 9AM or so on Thursday May 2nd. Where we live we got a total snow fall of 15 inches. It knocked out the power in town for more then 12 hours, as it was a heavy wet snow and branches fell all over the lines and stuff.

I never cease to be astonished at the variety, depth of color, and brilliance of zinnias, my favorite flower. They are in profuse bloom right now, and our house abounds with their beauty. Two years ago I started planting San Marzano tomatoes, the first choice of tomatoes in Italy. I have not been sorry. The plants are loaded and have been ripening now for a couple of weeks.
Thursday, January 5, 2017. I am not letting this follow me any further into the new year. I need to get this off my chest. I am not the type to give up on people easily, but some people are no longer worth the effort. I occasionally touched base with them. It was time to go. We hugged and took pictures and I said I would keep in touch, and stop for a visit if we ever got back that way. Ok, but can we stop in on Monday? We are down in Indiana.

There are so many uses for avocados, but my favorite is fresh guacamole. Did you catch the word fresh? Years ago when I was young and naive, I would actually buy commercial guacamole in one of those plastic tubs. It was obviously full of preservatives, glucky thickener and probably too much sodium.
