Mr Tan began his musical education first as a pianist when he was in primary school. The young and enthusiastic trumpeter never looked back since then. Tan is also the Resident Conductor of the bands of Mayflower Secondary School and Huayi Secondary S.

Mohamad Rasull graduated from the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Diploma in Education, specialising in Music and Mathematics, and was awarded the Mrs Paul Feng Pei Djen Gold Medal for outstanding achievement in his Music studies.
