Wednesday, July 2, 2014. Speaker from South Sudan Visits Floyd. A young South Sudanese gentleman by the name of Mandela recently made a trip to Floyd to speak to congregants and friends of Floyd United Methodist Church. The Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church has long been involved in supporting Christian missionaries in South Sudan, which is widely considered to be one of the most dangerous areas for global missions.
