Sunday, June 9, 2013. A new compost pile was started 3 weeks ago with donkey and goat bedding. Some dry bedding was added on top a week ago. This means the forced air system appears to be working. After showing good activity, a few weeks of rain have taken their toll, and activity at the entrance is now moderate. I saw a worker bee dumping an almost fully form larva. It probably died from starvation. This is an indication that I should feed them if the weather turns to rain again.

I started with paraffin wax, but fairly soon it appeared there are far more issues to learn about with beeswax.
