Feeding Wild Birds in the Garden. Monday, 21 February 2011. Blue Jay in the Hazel Tree. We spotted a Blue Jay in the garden this week. They usually just take some food and fly off again! Wednesday, 15 December 2010. This is a sweet little story about a lady who rescued a Hummingbird from a wasp trap. We had a hummingbird get caught in a wasp trap, my granddaughter Ashlee and I brought it inside and washed its wing off as best we could.
Friday, 30 August 2013. Manual focus and a used very beaten up Nikon F2 loaded with Kodachrome 25 for good light and Kodachrome 64 for bad light. Those were the days I chased Kingfishers at the Danube in Southern Germany. Well manual focus is history as is Kodachrome and sadly most of the Kingsfishers in the small village I grew up. Monday, 20 July 2015. First I was in Suffolk for 3 weeks again, doing some photography for the RSPB at Minsmere while Springwatch were filming there. We saw that the webpage said " Another of the waders that was on the list to be photographed in Iceland was the Black-tailed Godwit." It also said " Looking very smart in their summer colours. We do get some in the UK that are practically in breeding plumage, but I havent seen any as stunning as these.
