Steve Ashton Wildlife Photography

Friday, 7 August 2015. Catching up and a bit of migration. Last Sunday morning 2nd a visit to Sandwich Bay enabled me to see and photograph a Whinchat, my first real evidence of the forthcoming return migration for birds that have spent the last few months here in Britain on their breeding grounds. Unfortunately not looking as colourful as it did on arrival back in the Spring. I also saw 4 Wheatears but they remained distant and not at all interested in being snapped. Poor Light . Wrong Post. These we.

Greater Kent Birder

The first post on the local kestrels covered 3 day; this post covers the next 2 days. Day 4 was exactly as day 3 in that 2 of the young had left the nest hole and were sitting on the cliff top and 2 were still in the hole. Progress was slow but by the time I left it was only around 6 feet from the cliff top.

Nature immortalised

My most popular images for sale at Shutterstock. Friday, March 7, 2014. Having had zero snow covering here in Munich over the winter I was beginning to consider tying a noose. Put the call out in Facebook for people wanting to visit his eagle hides. Being a lone wolf it is not easy to guarantee a spot as groups tend to book early. But he had space end of February, during the school hols and my mother-in-law was coming to visit. I booked a flight, I was in! On the Tuesday we had any.

Nature photography, specialising in the native fauna and flora of Kent, UK. Friday, 27 May 2011. Same subject; different approach. I was determined to get some shots before the wind got up too much as it had blighted my attempts to get any half-decent shots earlier in the week. Whilst the monkeys are getting towards the end of their flo.

I will not be updating this Blog anymore, there just is not enough time in the day to keep all the sites up to date. Red Veins and Red Eyes. I was nearby again on Friday so I planned another attempt to see if I could tempt it onto a nicer perch. This was not to be though as Eastbourne had monsoon type weather on the Thursday which resulted in the area where I wanted to be being under 18 inches of water! Red-eyed Damselflies in tandem.
