They are alot cheaper and they are guarenteed to be the right shape, size, weight and have no knots in them. Manufactured boards are very cheap and easy to make. they can be accuratley made into lengths and thicknesses. Layers of wood placed perpendicularly to make a board. Lots of chips of woods stuck together and compacted together with glue, not good in wetness. Like chip board but cheaper and bigger chips.
