Saturday, September 09, 2006. What did we do for our summer vacation? We spent 2 weeks in Brazil enjoying the beaches at the northeast state of Pernambuco, eating the great local food, drinking ice cold beers, coconut water and caipirinhas, visiting friends and family in Rio, and reuniting with relatives in São Paulo we had not seen for many years. We also did some shopping, of course.

On our 4th day in Pernambuco, we took a day trip to the Praia dos Carneiros, a quiet and beautiful white sand beach located approximately 50 km south of Nannai. View of the river that leads to the ocean. The Praia dos Carneiros is just around the righ hand corner at the end of the river. Garden at the Resort Praia dos Carneiros.

August 31st to September 5th, 2006. We stayed 5 nights in Rio, at the Hotel Praia Ipanema. It was a great opportunity to meet up with old friends, family, enjoy the local cuisine and do some shopping. Breakfast with a beach view.

We got together with several ex-high school classmates of Kius from EARJ. The venue was the Academia da Cachaça. Beata Felczak Gundelach, Maria Coca Lobo, Denise Joughin and Daniel Lobo Filho. Located at the Muro Alto Beach in the district of Ipojuca in Pernambuco. On our 2nd day in Pernambuco, we spent the day at the Porto de Galinhas Beach, considered the most beautiful beach of the state. Waiting for the daily shuttle from Nannai to Porto de Galinhas. The main street at the town of Porto de Galinhas.

We spent 2 days in São Paulo to visit relatives we had not seen for many years. Since this leg of the trip will be mostly of interest to our relatives, the rest of the descriptions will be in Portuguese. Esta viagem foi para matar saudades mesmo!
