I am moving this blog to a new home on the Wordpress platform, as this is where my garden journal is hosted and I have decided to keep everything under one roof - so to speak. My first post is up to-day after more than 6 months away from the studio. Part of the reason that I have not been in the studio is that I have found work as a gardener - it pays slightly better than art! Plus I have been working in my own garden - which I am passionate about.
Thursday, 23 July 2015. Successful exhibition and workshop then back to Paris. My exhibition at the Scottish textile museum in Hawick, Scotland seems to be very successful with lots of positive feedback. I was very pleased with the way the pieces had been displayed. The workshop too was very successful with everyone enjoying trying new things and some right out of their comfort zone. Back to my Paris project now. I used the design of the oak leave for a couple of pieces.
On Saturday I facilitated a workshop at Step by Step Patchwork Centre. In South Molton on a very simplified way of piecing curves. Sunday, 31 May 2009. Out of my comfort zone. With textile artist Cas Holmes.

Our youngest daughter Nicola has just come back from an intense professional upholstery course and we couldnt believe the transformation that she achieved, with the chair in the above pic, I dont think Skooby the cat is going to be quite as impressed as we were as she wont be enjoying the comfort of the new!
