Saturday, November 16, 2013. The Farm, The Animals and More. Shady Creek Farm is located between the cities of Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Dayton, OH in Fayette County Indiana. We have a 26 acre working sheep farm, with 16 acres of fenced pastures, 6 wooded acres and the remainder is in lawn. Our pastures are subdivided into 4 fields for pasture rotation which enables efficient use of feed and the ability to naturally manage parasite loads. Shady Creek Farm has a small flock.

Nellie was introduced to sheep the day after we brought her home, by the time she was 4 months old she was exhibiting herding instinct and was able to gather up small groups of lambs. She is a great hiking partner, loves to retrieve a ball and will do a back flip .

Breeders of Commercial Katahdin Sheep. Shady Creek Katahdins has been raising commercial Katahdin sheep since 2003. We maintain a breeding flock of 25 ewes with lambing season occurring in February and March.

You are encouraged to come prepared to spend a day in a farm environment! For your dog, please have a flat buckle collar. A chain, choke or slip collar will not be permitted. If you regularly use a harness for hiking or dog walks, bring that too. A long leash is best, a 10 foot training leash works well. Flexi-leashes are not advised nor will they be allowed around the stock.
