Friday, August 23, 2013. Palm Trees Burning in the Night. There was a sharp crack of thunder and I was instantly awake. He said, probably still asleep. And lightning lit up the room. And then came the rain. I could hear it hitting the skylight and the windows and the roof. It got louder and sounded less like rain and more like angry children hurtling gravel at our house. I rolled over and thought it was over.

Sunday, August 09, 2015. This was the first birthday in a long time that I didnt go camping. Instead Mom came up and we had lunch and ate Bonnie Bells cupcakes at the Arboretum. We went to the mall, I got a haircut. It wasnt even bad enough to be fun, it was just, meh. I walked to burn through all this stress I have been carrying around. It worked a little bit.
