My ongoing story of natural history and life on the coast of County Clare in the west side of Ireland and sometimes beyond . A evening swell at Lahinch. An evening swell at Lahinch ,. Wave conditions were flat all day , a 2. 5 m swell pulsed in from the south west around 3pm , by 5pm waves were head high along the reefs and beach . Latest bird news from Øygarden, Hordaland, Norway. Wednesday, April 11, 2018. Tjeldstø 11 April 2018 - First Swallow and ton up in Øygarden. Calm and sunny in the morning, light northerly breeze later. Cracking weather again and thus not much in the way of grounded migrants. However, plenty of new arrivals busy setting up territories. The first new for the year came before I even left the house in the form of the first Swallow låvesvale. Were seen from my terrace.
Seagrasses are species of aquatic flowering plants which are grass-like in appearance. Globally there are four families of seagrass. From the family Zosteraceae is the only genus of seagrass present in Ireland. Despite the grass-like appearance they are more closely related to the pondweeds than the grasses.
