Friday, October 4, 2013. On October 1st, Derek and I celebrated our second year of dating each other. Being the gigantic sweetheart that he is, he of course had something amazing up his sleeves. He planned a surprise weekend getaway to Ojai, CA. We left late Friday night and traveled by night, like western bandits fleeing across the desert. Alas, we arrived at the surprise location.

I loved going shopping with her for a dress and the cake was a lot of fun to make too. It was so cute! Here is Katie before her date arrived. She is such an amazing young woman and I am so proud of her in so many ways.

Monday, December 7, 2009. Our Adoption of Brady Alexander Peter Scott. Our family was asked to be featured in an upcoming adoption newsletter. As soon as we met Brady, we knew! We know this may sound simple, but in your heart, when you first see the child who could become your son, you have an indescribable feeling and connection to him. Brady took to us immediately as well, laughing and cuddling as we spend the first few days with him.
