My wife and I were talking about writing in journals. She mentioned that she heard that even if you can not write a formal journal you should at least write something you are grateful for each day. I enjoyed his insight into some of the parables. I enjoyed his collection of comments from General Authories that matched up with the scripture being talked about. Over all a nice easy read.
