saltbushstitch

Daily walks on the beach, a bush garden and a little bit of stitching. Monday, September 16, 2013. The latest theme for our Stitching Across the Ditch challenge was Self Portrait. Ive always wanted to do a really colourful self portrait as Ive seen in Quilting Arts magazines and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. I traced an outline of my face from a photo and then went crazy with fabric choices! It was a lot of fun! I took heaps of photos. They truly are a magnificent animal. I had fun look.

A Letter a Week 2012

A letter a week 2013. Monday, January 7, 2013. I got the pattern from a book on making books. When it was all done, I realised that I should have stuck the letters on sideways instead . But it was all too late! If you hold the book one way,the letters are inside the ribbons and in order. If you shake it, the letters move around. Friday, January 4, 2013.

One Pink Goose

Saturday, May 7, 2011. A slightly different blog post today as The Book has arrived at last. And here is the original photo of Heather holding the lambs. Here is the photo that inspired the Jackdaw Jeans rug below. I think the jeans are especially good. Heather has the knack of removing extraneous detail to simplify the image.

Plays With Needles

Wednesday, December 30, 2015. Merry Christmas one and all! Thanks to Pam Kellogg. And her request to participate in her 2016 Crazy Quilt calendar. I had a Christmas Card this year. I looked at reviews of various card companies. That would print out my own design. I narrowed my search to TinyPrints. I chose Minted even though they were a tad more expensive because their Silver-Foil Merry Christmas design. Worked best with my embroidery. I tucked in a little card that explained the embroidery.
