We dropped Marion and Hugh off at Levkas to catch their plane and then rushed off down to Vlicho bar near Nidri as we knew a storm was coming through that night. Vlicho is an enormous, land-locked bay with a wonderful mud bottom - superb holding for an anchor.

Saturday, March 1, 2008. Fitting out Rosa for living aboard. We started the process of figuring out what sort of boat we needed to live aboard several years ago. Figuring out our requirements required a lot of reading and some experience in different boats. 30 in the Ionian, A Juneau 38 in Croatia and a Bavaria Holiday 36 in the Aegean. These all had their advantages and foibles and gave us more idea of what we valued and what we did not.

Starting from Licata in mid May, we plan to go to Gallipoli on the heel of Italy to have Rosa hauled out and do a bit of work below the waterline. We then go to Croatia to see the bits we missed last year. Finally back to Licata in Sicily for the winter. Rosa is a Southerly 35 from Northshore Yachts.

This is our third year living on our yacht Rosa exploring the Mediterranean. This year we are going further East into the Aegean. We hope to cross the Aegean early in the year to Northern Turkey and then to cruise gently south finishing up in Crete. Tuesday, February 22, 2011.
