We are a Year One classroom with Ms Pearce as our teacher. We love to learn new things about the world around us. Tuesday, 9 December 2014. Here are some pictures from our Botany Downs Kindergarten and Room 8 playdate. We have loved having the kindy as a special part of Room 8 this year and have enjoyed all the things we get to do together like the Easter egg hunt, elections, Skyping and talking to you all every week. Our trip to Te Tahawai Marae. We caught the bus to the Marae, it was very exciting and noisy! When we got there we were welcomed on. This is called a Powhiri. Some of the big kids came,they helped with the waiata and mihi. We got to share some Kai, this ends the Powhiri. Then we split into groups to do activities. This group is making their whanau using Korus. These children are having a go drawing the carvings. The carvings are of the ancestors, a bit like taking a photo.
