Grimm Grinz Studio

Wednesday, December 24, 2014. Monday, December 22, 2014. So, here we go. This is a sled I am making for a Santa sculpt. I forgot to take a pic of the sketches on the modeling plywood so this series of pics starts after I cut them out. I hope you enjoy a peek into my process for creating a prop. Cutting out these 10 pieces on the scroll saw was a bit unnerving. Sand until smooth. Wood glue is my friend for all my wood pieces. Two coats of Liquitex acrylic paint. Finally complete and ready for Santa! Intro.

Runamuck Studio Blog by Dennis Haynes

Wednesday, January 13, 2016. Believe it or not, I had a conversation with my late grandfather, Paul Swick, this morning on my commute to work. I asked him to come get her. Seems that he heard me. I look back on the varied memories of visiting their house. We kids would try to sneak up to the attic and we would play until we got caught. That attic was a treasure trove for us.

Zombienose - The Inner Workings

Monday, November 28, 2016. This is a short blog so it will be a quick read. Without further ado, please let me introduce you to your new friend and mine. This piece started with a quick sketch. The idea was not really new - I found a vintage holiday decoration of this type at the thrift store and other artists continue to make pumpkin snowmen, but I thought it would be a good segway piece from Halloween to Christmas. Below you can see that I began very simply with a wood base and armature wire.
