Wednesday, 29 July 2015. Return to West Perth Wetlands. You can see that I got caught in a brief shower. It allowed me much closer views which were not possible with my binoculars. Common whitetail dragonflies were the dominant dragonfly of the afternoon. The tall grass also held numerous insects.
A flock of geese leave their lake and take wing, turning to poems in the sky. August always seems to come suddenly! There you are, enjoying the summer when suddenly you notice that the days are getting a little shorter and birds are on the move again. Returning to Wildwood we are still seeing Herons and Kingbirds, Swallows and Kingfishers. But nearby at Harrington, the shorebirds have been arriving along with Great Egrets.
