With the recent postings on Wikileaks of classified government documents we must ask ourselves if there is a time when the interests of government overshadow freedom of the press. I believe that as in freedom of speech, there are times when for the greater good there should be limits placed upon the right of the press to publish government information.

Thursday, December 9, 2010. I read an article by my classmate, Megan. The article is well written but I do not agree with the subject. Julian Assange released diplomatic cables on his website Wikileaks. The Obama administration started with the idea of operating the government with full transparency. In fact earlier this year Hillary Clinton made a speak about the freedom of the internet. I have read a few articles about the documents that have been released.

Friday, October 1, 2010. Of all the things the government does that drives me insane is how they grossly earmark nearly ever bill. In some cases, they use these earmarks as legal bribes for votes. When it comes to a political way that I lean, I would say that I am more left. I see positives and excellent arguments from both sides. I do tend to agree with liberals often.
