Rambling Loon

Friday, April 2, 2010. Cycling after 10 years. So its been 10 years since I really used a bike, and a few weeks ago we discovered the creeper trail in Abingdon VA. This got us thinking about cycling and how good it can be for our health. Its a reason to go outside on our days off, get out, see some beautiful Virginian country side and burn off a few calories in the process. I am looking forward to building my leg muscles and getting better at cycling. Hopefully it will be a lot of fun soon. D.

Hog Creek Farm A small family farm where theres always something happening!

April 11, 2012 by hogcreekfarm. We recently acquired seven little chicks from a friend. I think they are Cuckoo Marans. Usually when we get a new batch of chicks we keep them in a brooder with a heat lamp until they get their feathers and can regulate their temperature. This little batch of chicks has been adopted by a silkie. Apple, aka the Smartest Chicken on the Farm.
