At that time the tidewaters of the Mersey flowed up to and surrounded this isolated spot, once known as the Isle of Chester. A legend, perhaps of the 5th or 6th century, tells of a shipwrecked fisherman who, on finding refuge here, built a church as an act of thanksgiving, dedicating it to St Peter the fisherman. The name Plemstall, or Plegmundst.
We welcome families who wish to bring their children to be baptised. A first step would be to attend a church service and introduce yourself, or to contact the Rector directly as well. We will help you to understand what baptism means. In it you make a commitment to Christ and to the nurture of your child in the Christian faith. As a church we promise to provide for your child to grow as part of the church.
30am-12noon in Mickle Trafford Village Hall. 30am service on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sundays of the month. The children join the congregation in church later in the service during communion.

Monday, April 27, 2015. Plemstall and the Cult of St Plegmund. A lecture by Dr Philip Morgan. Wednesday 20th May, 7. Philip Morgan is a Senior Lecturer in History at Keele University. His doctorate was on warfare in medieval Cheshire and he worked on the Phillimore editions of the Domesday book.
