Sunday, January 9, 2011. Family Trip to the Andes and Galapagos. We traveled from Nashville to Lima via Atlanta with no problems or delays. Once there, we went straight to the Grand Faraona Hotel and went right to sleep. The hotel was clean, but nothing extraordinary. Bedtime was about 1 am. There was a pre-dawn excursi.
Thursday, November 22, 2012. Ellen, Connolly, Sharon and I are taking a little over a week to visit Colombia. Mary Byrne, our eldest daughter, has to work during the week when her two sisters are on spring break so she and her husband Chris are unable to go with us. Flight down over Central America and the Caribbean was quite bumpy. Sharon and I watched the movie Lincoln and then slept. We got lost a couple of times trying to locate the hotel, but were there a little after 1.
Sunday, May 20, 2012. Mike and Sharon in Scandinavia and Russia. The problem with that flight was that it left Detroit in the early evening and got into Amsterdam at what would have been about 1 am in Nashville. So our body clocks were all screwed up. All was good, not terrif.

Chris had not been to Africa before, while the other five of us have been once, when we visted Kenya briefly before going on safari in Tanzania in 2004. The flight between Zurich and Nairobi was beautiful. It was a crystal clear day and we flew ove.
Monday, June 28, 2010. PIGOTTS IN PORTUGAL, July 2010. The five of us will be leaving Nashville on July 3, arriving in Lisbon early in the morning on July 4. While there for a couple of days, we will be staying at the Lisboa Plaza boutique hotel. The Lisboa Plaza Hotel let us check in immediately even though it was still just morning, and we all took a two-hour nap.
