After such a fantastic day yesterday mainly spent in the Garden, I decided to put the Night Camera out in the Coppice my side of the Bosley Reservoir, not expecting the rain that came through during the night, and even though very welcome for the garden and new plants, not so for the recovery of the Camera this morning! Friday afternoon I checked the weather again and it was low wind conditions but grey cloud and a chance of rain. I decided it was worth the risk of the 4 hour round trip drive and just hoped it would stay dry. Saturday morning came and I headed north leaving both the rain and snow behind me. Further off, but with better light. Good call as it turned out. I stopped on Hugh Town beach for some Turnstones. Looking at the people on the quayside above. And this surprisingly pale Gannet. As dark drew near we saw more stormies and shearwaters, and Joe caught 3 blue sharks.

This web page petesbirdingblog.blogspot.com states the following, "Winter Workshops In The Scottish Highlands." We saw that the webpage said " Since turning pro, each winter now means a trip north of the border to Scotland, to take paying clients out to see some of the wonderful array of wildlife to be seen there." It also said " And each year, I seem to be spending longer up there, which is great as it means I meet new clients, and also any excuse to spend more time in Scotland, especially the Highlands isnt a bad thing. To be lying with a wild mountain hare, merely 50cm in front of me, was i."
