Translating biophilia into a love of life. I dedicate this post to all pangolins and those who love, protect, and conserve them. With the singular characteristic of being covered in large overlapping scales. In that they eat ants, using their enormous front claws. In fact, the name pangolin.
From August 2011 to December 2011 I travelled through Namibia and felt at home enough to say I was temporarily living there. My main goal was to work on a research project on the Pangolin, but I also got plenty of safari time and took part in some other volunteer opportunities. Pangolins are scaly mammals that live in Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. Poaching for illegal wildlife trade and habitat loss have made these extraordinary creatures one of the most endangered mammal groups in the world.
