Panama Ponderings

Sunday, August 28, 2016. Farewell party at Emas was beautiful. As beautiful as the universal value this family has come to represent not just to me, but to all of their visitors. Ema presented me with a gift a nagua, the traditional Ngäbe dress made especially for me, custom fit and the colors of my favorite of Elsas naguas yellow and red triangles on black. Looks like fire in the night. You decide the symbolism. Photo below. When my parents arrived at Emas house, tired from the hike .

PCV service in the Darien of Panama. When despair for the world grows in me. And I wake in the night at the least sound. I go and lie down where the wood drake. Rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds. I come into the peace of wild things. Who do not tax their lives with forethought. I come into the presence of still water.

People are quite nice is our new site. Everyone seems to work together, and share the little they have. From the very beginning they made us feel very welcomed, and showed their kindness right away. In our community mostly everyone is evangelical. We were a little worried about this at first, thinking it might be a little overbe.
