Monday, July 8, 2013. Babies, Blankets and Blessings. Our Ethiopia Team was organized with fundraising well on the way. Then it was time to decide how the rest of us, you know, the folks back here at home who do not go on the mission trip, well, how can we help? Pretty soon we started having requests from ministries in Ethiopia for more of our handmade baby dolls and so we set to work. First came days filled with sewing, stuffing and attaching hair to close to 100 of those precious dolls.

When the Rwandan government first announced its goal to empty all the orphanages by placing the children into families, the idea was met by some with resistance. Every one of the over 100 children who were living there is now in a family of his or her own, thanks to the local church, the Orphan Care Initiative, and the support of generous Orphan Care Sponsors.
