Javier Betancourt, along with his colleague John Vale, assumed ownership of Ocho Placas Tattoo Company in 2009 after the sudden passing of owner Jose Luis Carrera. In his decade-long career, his work has earned international recognition and a large and dedicated following. His work is rooted in American traditional but spans many styles. Javier uses classical imagery, romantic and religious themes, with a high contrast palette and meticulous attention to detail.
