As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics with a joint appointment in the Center for Data Science. I will join Courant in the Summer of 2016, until then I am spending a year in the Department of Mathematics at MIT. As an Instructor of Applied Mathematics.

Monday, October 7, 2013. The connection between Linus Pauling and fMRI. When I think of Linus Pauling. Pauling, in fact, had had a long interest in the properties of blood. In 1936 he published an important paper on the magnetic properties of hemoglobin. Pauling did not envision an application at the time but from the mid-1960s on much work was done on engineering MR field gradients.

Three flavors, fast kinetics or big signals. Bigger responses than OGB-1, some are MUCH bigger. The responses to drifting gratings in visual cortex are spectacular. Sorry no pics for now. Hopefully the reviewers will be nice so we can all read about it soon. Still work to be done getting true 1AP resolution when simultaneously imaging large populations of neurons, but for single neuron imaging.
