Who, What, When, and Where - and Why? In the beginning . Our trip to Nicaragua actually began last November, when Alannah Johnston of Igloolik made the most persuasive presentation to the class about where we should go on this years trip. Since then, the students have raised money by giving cultural performances in Ottawa and elsewhere, and by soliciting donations from dozens of organizations, businesses and hamlets across the north. Friday, November 10, 2006. Written over past 3 weeks, this is rather rambling, fragmented collection. Perhaps like my experience here. But many things in the country seem unreal, disconnected, illogical. I keep being surprised when am reminded of the holidays feel completely disconnected as climate is so different, as well as the culture. 5 November 5, 2006.
