Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Matariki Hangi Celebrations 2015! Last Friday was a special day of celebrations! It started on Thursday afternoon with the preparations of the veggies, meat and hangi kai trays. The men were in charge of preparing the hole and the wood! Early Friday morning about 415am, the fire for the hangi was lit! The kai was ready to go into the hole at 7am. The kai cooked from 7am to 1215pm. The men pulled the hangi up out of the ground at 1215pm! We sold 300 tickets! 13 children from Te .CONTENT
