One of the things I can do while healing, without feeling like I am wasting my time is look at patterns on Ravelry. Days of shawls, weeks of sweaters, dozens and dozens of months of things to look at that people have designed and knit. It is forever inspiration seeing all the possibilities. Where sewing and art blend together. This blouse is and example of the circle blouse style. I drafted a master of this pattern and then I copied off a version for this sleeve length. I had a great bit of fabric that had excellent drape for this experiment. In keeping with the spirit of summer I wanted to avoid anything heavy looking so I opted to face the neck with bias binding instead of a facing.

Stars and Stripes and Learning to Applique. Managed to finish this in time for Memorial Day so it now hangs on my wall - where it will remain until the 4th of July - in rememberance of all the things we should be grateful that we have.
